Hello! I’m Jon Griffiths, a Graphic Designer from South Wales. Thank you for stopping by.
Let’s work together.
I am often asked why I call myself Dirty Vellum. The name is inspired by my time working at a print studio in Wanaka (NZ). There was a big market for printing and scanning original large scale building plans. One of the scan settings used for very old hand drawn architectural drawings was called 'Dirty Vellum'. Vellum is an old paper stock, sometimes known as parchment paper. Like draftsmen of yesteryear, I begin my designs with the humble paper and pencil. I carry my note book everywhere, doodling ideas and thoughts as I go.
From there the name Dirty Vellum has stuck with me.
